Have you been wanting things to feel different during your math block, but you haven’t been sure where to start or what to even change? Maybe you walked out of your classroom this school year feeling exhausted and defeated when it comes to math instruction. You tried so hard to meet every student’s needs, keep them engaged, manage alllll the behaviors, keep up with the curriculum, differentiate, and somehow still try to make it fun. It’s a LOT. I’ve been there, and that’s why I’m inviting you to join my summer teacher book study, so you can learn what truly makes the biggest difference.
I’ll tell you right now… you don’t need to spend hours rewriting lesson plans or buying random resources on TPT that collect digital dust on your desktop. What you actually need for real transformation is a math system that makes sense and is realistic, one that helps you confidently teach small groups, reach struggling learners, simplify your math block, and stop feeling like math time is just about survival. That’s exactly what I’m going to help you create this summer!
Read on to learn more about what to expect, how this teacher book club is going to work, and how you can snag 10 PD credits plus a whole new level of confidence teaching math this summer!

Why I Created This Teacher Book Study
Ever since my book Small Groups, Big Impact came out, I’ve been so excited to host a teacher book study where we could read through the book and implement everything inside together. I know what it feels like to struggle with math instruction (and math in general… more on that in this blog post!).
I know what it feels like to:
- Be completely overwhelmed during math time
- Question if students are truly understanding
- Wonder if there’s a better way to teach math
- Feel like you’re constantly spinning your wheels trying to meet everyone’s needs
And I also know what it feels like to sit through professional development that sounds amazing at first… but leaves you either disappointed that you got nothing out of it, or walking away even more overwhelmed than when you started.
That’s why I wanted this summer teacher book study to feel different.
This isn’t just about reading a book. It’s about completely rethinking the way you teach math.
What You’ll Learn Inside the Summer Teacher Book Study
Inside this book study, we’re not just talking theory or sharing Pinterest-perfect ideas that are impossible to maintain in a real classroom.
During this 5-week teacher book club experience, we’ll walk through:
- What small group math instruction actually looks like
- How to structure your math block
- How to group students with purpose
- How to manage rotations
- How to simplify your planning
- And how to stop feeling like math time is survival mode every single day
Every strategy I’ll teach you in the book comes from my actual classroom experience. Trust me… it’s not perfect, it’s not polished theory, and it’s definitely not a fairytale classroom where everything runs smoothly all the time and there are no behaviors.
This is real-life teaching, including the mistakes I made, the lessons I learned, the systems I tested and tweaked, and the framework that completely transformed the way I teach math today.
After 14 years in education, I’ve learned that successful small group instruction is NOT about collecting more activities, trying every new teaching trend, or creating complicated systems.
It’s about implementing a simple, purposeful framework that helps you confidently reach your students where they are. One that works for you… and them. That’s exactly what we’ll be focusing on together this summer.
Most importantly? You’ll leave with a plan, not just inspiration. You’ll have an actual system you can use when school starts back up.

What You’ll Get When You Join the Teacher Book Study
Inside the book study, you’ll receive:
- A printable workbook to track your thoughts and takeaways

I also get that summer is busy and you might not be able to make every single meet-up, so replay access will be available so you can watch on your own schedule!
