Simplifying Your 100th Day Activity Ideas

There are so many great one hundredth day activity ideas out there for all subjects that you can incorporate into your celebration. However, it can be overwhelming trying to plan for and fit in all of these activities, crafts, and games. Over the years I learned a quick and easy way to simplify my routine for this day.

I came up with a 100th day stations rotation system that you can easily implement and differentiate to meet the needs of your schedule, the number of students you have, and the activities you’re using.

How to Set Up Your 100th Day Stations

There are so many great 100th day activity ideas out there for all subjects that you can incorporate into your celebration. However, it can be overwhelming trying to plan for and fit in all of these activities, crafts, and games. Over the years, I learned a quick and easy way to simplify my routine for the 100th day of school and came up with a rotation system.

To set up your 100th day stations, first decide how many activities you’re going to use. In my classroom, I had 8 different activities, but you can do more or less depending on your schedule and the size of your class. I used a variety of 100th day printable activities and hands-on learning games that you can find in my 100th Day of School resource, but you can use whatever activities you have on hand or like to do year after year.

A few of the 100th day activity ideas included in this resource are:

  • Roll a Dice 100 Times
  • 100th Day Color by Number
  • 100 Parts of Speech
  • 100th Day Pictures
  • 100th Day Writing

You can also have students explore by building a structure out of 100 cups or pattern blocks or drawing animals with the number 100.

Each activity or game then becomes part of your 100th day stations. Put everything your students will need for that rotation in a basket, tray, or in a particular spot in your classroom, including any supplies, recording sheets, or additional directions needed.

Then, add a 100th day activity station sign to the basket or area so students know what they’ll be doing at that station.

How to Group Your Students

Next, put your students into partners or small groups of 3-4 students. They will rotate around to each of the 100th day stations throughout the day. I recommend letting students spend about 15-20 minutes at each activity before moving on to the next.

I like to use a timer projected onto the whiteboard so students can keep track of their time. I also like to give students about a minute or so to clean up the station before rotating to the next activity or hands-on game.

Using 100th Day Stations Punch-Cards

To make your 100th day stations even more fun and engaging for students, I like to use 100th day punch-cards. Each student gets a punch-card, and as they rotate to each station, they punch a hole in their card to show that they completed that activity. They can also use stickers or color in the box on their punch-card to show the activity is completed.

This simple 100th day stations and punch-card system keeps your students motivated and moving all throughout the day. This encourages on-task behavior and keeps them engaged in all of the new activities that they are working to complete in order to fill up their punch-card.
