I cannot believe it’s already September. This year just seems to be flying by so fast. I’m needing a little bit more summer time. I’m not ready to give up my days in nike shorts, no make up and not fixing my hair. It’s that time again to link up with Farley for this months CURRENTLY!!!
LISTENING: Do I have any other Bobby Bones Show listeners out there? I’ve listened to his morning show for almost 10 years. He use to host a top 40 morning show in Texas but he has now moved to Nashville and hosts a country morning show. I’m behind so I’m catching up on the podcasts.Since I’ve listened to his show for so long, I feel like I know the cast members personally. My husband and I talk about them daily.
LOVING: I’ve got to spend the past week with my family. I just wish it could have been under better circumstances. My husbands grandma passed away so we left the middle of last week to head up to Oklahoma City to help with arrangements. Then this weekend we came back to Texas, but instead of going home, we came to see my parents. We live about 6 hours from my husbands family and about 5 from mine. We don’t get to see them often so its always nice to see everyone.
THINKING: Since I had to leave the middle of last week, I left school in a rush. I’m sure my sub plans were a mess. I’ve only been at school 2 days and I’m already behind. So much to do!!!! #workisneverdone
WANTING: This is the first labor day weekend I haven’t spent on the lake. I’m having wake boarding withdrawals people!!!
NEEDING: The Texas TEKS (our standards) have changed this year in math. I’ll be teaching place value to 1,200 instead of 999 this year. I’ve been working on a new unit for almost a month and I’m finally finished with it. I just need to proof read and make my examples. Stay tuned! 🙂
3 TRIPS: I’ve wanted to go Ireland and Italy for as long as I can remember. Hawaii has recently been added to that list too. I’ll make it there one of these days. Who’s up for a bloggy trip???
KABOOM! is the one game that I always say every teacher needs in their classroom. It is so versatile and can be used with anything. This is my students absolute favorite game to play and they never get tired of it. I have games made for all subject areas. Read all about this class favorite! ---> bit.ly/KABOOMClassroomGame... One year, we read a story about a little girl who flew around the world and saw many different things, one of which was the Statue of Liberty. When the students were asked to name something she saw on her journey, a little boy said the Spatula Delivery! Too cute!
