We have become good blogging buddies over the past few months and I just adore her! I chose to review her Making Words for a Whole Year pack and I absolutely love it.
Making Words is a hands on activity where students try to make as many words as they can with the given set of letters. Last year I had a boggle board in my classroom and my kids really enjoyed it. This year I wasn’t able to put one up due to lack of wall space. I love having this type of activity in my word work station so when I found this resource I was stoked that all of my kids could be working on it at the same time. This pack incldues four sheets per month for the entire year. I have been using them on Fridays as fillers between tests and other activities and for my fast finishers. Each sheet has a mystery word that the students work hard to find. It’s a big deal in my class for whoever finds it first!
A bunch of my kiddos just started little league so we started out with the mystery word “baseball”. They caught onto the concept quickly and asked for more of a challenge! There is a picture in the top corner to help them figure out the mystery word.
