My 2nd graders need lots of practice with problem solving. I created these journal prompts to use as a quick practice with my students each day. Simply copy the prompts and have students glue into their math journal. They can be used for morning work, in small/whole groups, centers, or for exit tickets. There are 30 problems that contain basic addition and subtraction (up to 20), addition with 3 addends and multi-step problems (2 steps). At the top of each page, it tells which concept is being covered so you can easily skip around if needed.
